Emily, sign into your Event, click on Participant Center. The "New Goal" field is in the lower right portion of the Participant Center home page.
No guts, no glory...make it at least 5x what it is now! ;)

sorry... how do i sign into
sorry... how do i sign into the event? i see my relay event page, and i tried logging in on the top left hand corner (participant log in) and tried to sign in, but it said my username is invalid..i'm really confused?!

Signing In
Do you know who is managing your Relay's site? Usually your initial Welcome and Thank you for registering email will have the Relay site manager's email address on it. That person should be able to look up your username and send it to you. Just email him/her and ask for the information to get going again.

okay...
sorry for being such a pain guys!! so i finally logged in, but when i go to my event page (http://relay.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeSouthAtlanticDivision?fr_id=9371&pg=entry)
i can't find anything about participant center..

Okay
On the main page of your areas relay home page, right under where you log in will be
Participant Center
Click on that and it will bring you to YOUR participant center. If you look at the lower right hand corner, you will see the box to adjust your amount.
I also agree with Rick that you can't set your sights too low ...shoot for the stars!
On your areas home site main page below is where you see the Log In and Participant Center upper left hand corner
