Last year I covered our local Relay For Life for our small town newspaper.  It was the first RFL I'd ever been to.  I was so moved I volunteered to be on the committee this year and was assigned as the entertainment and activities chair.

I am so clueless as to what to do.  Our Relay is indoors and our crowd turnout is not really the sort to do theme laps or the like.

Please send me all the entertainment and activity ideas you can think of.  Our Relay goes from 6p.m. to 6 a.m.

We do a survivor's lap, a "future" lap (children's lap).

We are a very small community so any ideas you can give me will help greatly.

Thanks,

Amanda

you could hold a "Ms. Relay

you could hold a "Ms. Relay Pageant" where you provide bags of supplies to the participants (men only) and have their teams "dress" them with whatever is found in the bags, such as tape, newspaper, funky hats, leis, etc...its a great way to get rid of old holiday decorations that you no longer use

scavenger hunts always go over well and all you need are lists of random objects (two dollar bill, Relay footwear, stick of un-chewed gum) and a prize to give out (gift certificate, pizza for your team)

maybe someone in the community has a karaoke machine...theres hours of entertainment right in there

Hi! What about local school

Hi!

What about local school bands, choirs, dance clubs..etc performing? Or a bouncy blow up thing for the kids? Or a "fish pond" for the kids with prizes/treats??

We have talked about doing a scrapbook booth at ours that runs all night. People around here are really into that.

Maybe you could put different colored squares or something like that on the floor..and randomly through the night pick a square..and whoever is on it gets a prize?  What about a basketball shoot?

Maybe someone can teach the group to line dance? Or what about Karaoke!? (that's a favorite of mine! ;)

Do any of your local schools have a mascot? Maybe it can make an appearance?

What about a talent show? ..or a magic show? or a game of Bingo!? (?)

..there's a few ideas? Maybe it will help!! Good luck!!  :)
