I am making beaded bracelets with 5 colors of beads (white for hope, purple to represent the relay, black to remember those we've lost and silver to represent a promising future) to help fundraise for my hometown's relay. 2 years ago I did the same thing and did very well selling them at my office, however, I am trying to think of more ways to sell them and get the word out. Can anyone give me some more ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help!![]()

First, I have a question. Is it 4 colors, or did you forget one? Just kinda curious, because I liked the symbolism of the beads and all.
But to actually ANSWER you, my advice is just to advertise EVERYWHERE. Wear the jewelry, put a link on any boards you may visit, ask local stores to sell them, and tell people at work (of course). I know, not very creative, but useful, anyways.
I know in my hometown we have a television station that helps promote local events that are not for profit to oneself....So it supports The American Cancer Society. We put a picture of our jewelry on there and the lady told how we were raising money and who to contact if they were interested. It brought in a lot of money, we eventually made a website commited to it and now ship from there and take orders. Good Luck and hope that helps.
My team, Bosom Buddies has been selling jewelry we make at our Relay for the past 7 years. As a team we get together once a month and create the jewelry. Some of the team members will then take what was made and sell them to their friends and co-workers outside of Relay. We also sell at our event. Since we make so many, we bring in alot of money for Relay.
Another idea is to go to your favorite hair salon or Day Spa and ask if you can set up a small display stand. Check on it once a week to replenish and to collect the money. This is a great way to ask if the salon or Spa will also put up signs/posters promoting your Relay. Who knows, maybe you can get them to start a team.
Still another idea is to check with your doctor's office. One year a local doctor let us set up a display of jewelry along with literature about Relay and ACS. It worked real well and helped spread the word about Relay.
I hope these ideas are ones you can use. Good luck!

We also sell bracelets and have been very successful. One of our team members sells them at the office and also sets up a table at our campsite during Relay. She sold about $400 worth in a little over 4 hours. You could announce that you are selling bracelets during a club or organizational meeting. Be sure and bring examples so you can take orders. You could ask for an announcement at church or to be included in a church newsletter or bulletin. You could also ask team members' spouses to take the bracelets to their offices. If any of your team members have school age children, ask to display the bracelets in the teachers' lounge or send an e-mail with pictures to their teachers.
Good luck!
Hi Everyone....this year will mark my third year with relay. I have a beaded jewelry business that I've had for over 5 years now (http://shadesjewelry.etsy.com) and the proceeds from store go to Relay/ACS.
While cancer themed bracelets usually sell well, I have found that jewelry in general is a good fundraiser. I had my jewelry on display last year at relay and we did over $750 in sales that night. I kept my prices reasonable and offered a great variety of necklaces, bracelets, earrings, watches and more.
If you are looking for a way to generate more sales with jewelry...try expanding your offerings!!
Good luck to everyone!!!
