Facebook Application within Participant Center

I am the Co Chair for my local Relay, I also participated in another Relay a few months ago.  The other Relay had a Facebook Application that added the themometer to your facebook Page.  My Local Relay when I log in we don't have that option.  Anyone know if there is somewhere the online chair needs to go to turn on that option?

Ideas for next year?

What do you think of the links on the left hand side? Top? CA section?

Email campaigns - what did you add/change? What would you like for next year?

Help and How To's. What can we add/change?

Technical aspects. What is really missing or an annoying bug? In a perfect world, what would you enhanced?

Let me know what you think!

QuickAnimation.com error

When using the www.QuickAnimation.com site for creating rotating Sponsor Logos, the site is giving an error after the user hits Submit.

Fatal Error, no source image file found to process

It sounds like this has been an issue for just a few days and that ACS is in touch with the volunteer who created the tool to try and fix it.

Thanks!

Jeff Ross video???

I am sending out coaching email #6a.  A part of the text of this email reads "Watch this video from Jeff Ross" or something like that.  There is no video embedded.  I have searched and can't seem to find it.  Does anyone know about where to download this video.

Thanks!

Forum Topics v. Blog

Hi All,

I wanted to suggest that rather than Blog about an issue it's probably easier to create a Forum Topic about it. And we'll probably get more responses.

When you create a Forum topic, your topic shows up under the New Forum Topics in the Right Navigation Bar below the Support Relay badge, above your list of group memberships. Only those groups you check off when you create your topic will actually see it in their list, so it won't show up for Everyone, unless you check for it to.

But there is no tickler for the Blogs. You, the reader has to check each group you belong to individually to find the blogs, which makes them harder to find.

For both Forums & Blogs, if you go back in to Edit your forum or blog, you will have the choice to make that specific item available to more than just the one group you created it in.

Anyway, so there's my suggestion. Blog about experiences, like a diary. Create Forum Topics about issues, frustrations and suggestions.

Participants - Importing Contacts into Address Book

We've discovered that when you export contacts from Yahoo and choose the Yahoo.csv file format, it will create your file with many fields.  Go ahead and leave them, even though you only want the First Name, Last Name and Email.

When you import your file into your Participant Address Book, choose the Yahoo.csv option.  It should import the file for you.

However, if you remove the extra fields,  you'll get an error that the file is likely formatted incorrectly.

Uploading contact lists for emailing

We've discovered that when you Upload Contacts Lists into the Event Manager - Email area, you need to be sure that the field names in your csv match those in the SampleEmailListUpload.csv exactly.  But the sample field names are rather hard to see.  They are FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME and EMAIL.

Also, be sure that there are no ' ' around your email addresses.

Suggested enhancements

When adding a link to another site from the navigation bar, there isn't the choice to make it open a new window.

It would be cool if there were the option to widen the left navigation bar to fit column text better.

On the right, it's broken up into Teams, Participants & Companies.  There is the bar that says Top Teams then the list and then space and then View Teams.  The same for Patricipants & Companies.  This makes the View buttons difficult to see..they seem to get lost.  If the View buttons were closer to their Teams & Patricipants & Companies and then the space was below them before the bar for the next item, I think it would be easier to understand.

It would be nice if the team ranking didn't actually have ranking numbers, but just names.  The numbers reduce the number of letter available before names run onto the next line.  And the numbers seem superfluous.

When Vewing the Teams list, it would nice if the team name space was wider, because the names get smushed and have to wrap to the next line.

Convio site Suggestion

Here is a suggestion for future enhancement:

When a person registers a team that and chooses to register under a National Team company, it would be awesome if the site would not let you then pay the registration fee.

Thanks!

Questions about capabilities so far...

Hi all,

Thanks for letting me be a part of this group.  I've got some questions for you...

I'm wondering if we can:

  1. Delete a Team.  An event near me created some faux teams for practice and now wants to remove them.
  2. Edit participant information.

That's it for the moment.

Thank you!
