We did a gift wrap event at Christmas - and I decided to bring some glass bead bracelets to sell at the event for Relay. We made more money selling bracelets that wrapping packages. For $6.00 + tax you can make bracelets and sell them for $2.00 each and make about $40.00 for the ACS RFL bracelets. Have a bracelet making party and sell them at schools, work or church.
I was reading the last post and thought, "That sounds like my team!" and it is! My awesome co-captain is on here. She's right. You can make so much money doing bracelet sales. Charging 3 for $5 or $2 each, watch people snatch them up. We all went kind of crazy buying supplies (even ran into each other at the craft stores) so reimburse yourself for costs if it starts to add up. My co-captain and I are also on the committee for our Relay (I am Event Chair and she is Accounting and Registration) and we are also making special bracelets for survivors and using them as gifts with invitations to survivors to come to Relay. We are taking them to infusion centers, cancer units and oncology offices. You might want to do color-specific bracelets for each cancer color with a ribbon charm.
Good luck! Remember that wearing them is always a great way to advertise!
A shout-out to my awesome co-captain and friend Marjorie! You're the best!
