We're a youth team with no affiliation (meaning not school, not church, etc) and we need fundraiser ideas, of course! Specifically, we were thinking of doing a car wash, but we, er, have no idea how, actually. Who would be receptive to hosting a car wash at their establishment, what would a good suggested donation be, and, most of all, what's the most effective way to wash cars? Or, should that be as bad an idea as it sounds as I type it (this being, erm, January) where would be a good place to host a bake sale? Has anyone ever gotten a grocery store to let them sell baked goods out front? I've heard that some people have, but it doesn't sound like they'd allow it.

Try your local grocers. I have got them to help me and let me do things like that. Some grocers are more willing and open to things like this than you might think. Especially if you have no affiliation with any other company or organization

Try Wal-Mart! I know the ones here in my city will match what you make from bake sales car washes and hot dog/drink sales. Hope that helps.
