Hey everyone.

Our relay takes place in a small community in Arkansas.  Does anyone have any ideas for fundraisers that work in smaller areas?

Thank you!

Do people travel in your small community?

If they do your in luck.Smile I am sure you will find Passport To Giving an innovative way to provide a dynamic and ongoing source of new funding for your organization.

Our Travel Program is unique to the non-profit industry in that it provides your organization with a private label travel website branded with your organization’s name and logo. The website is similar to Expedia® and has all the selections and features of other online booking websites.

Your new travel website provides an alternate source for your supporters to book their business and personal travel… travel they are most likely already booking online. In fact, current statistics show that up to 82% of all personal travel is booked online.

It would be a simple shift for your supporters to book their travel with your organizations‘s travel website. They would receive competitive travel rates or better, and they would be helping a cause in which they believe. According to a recent Cone/Roper study, “86% of all Americans would likely switch brands to support a cause when price and quality are equal.”

Most importantly, each time your supporters book travel, your organization will receive, as royalties, 60% of all the travel commissions YTB receives from travel booked on your site. This would produce a source of fresh money for you.

It is also important to note:

• The program is not a long-term agreement. You are not committed for any predetermined length of time.

• We help you develop a custom marketing program to promote the website through your existing communication channels.

• Travel commissions are paid by third party vendors, not your supporters.

• Even a small portion of your supporters using the program, still produces a huge financial windfall.

• The program requires virtually no management by your organization.

Upon request I would be happy to provide you with a DVD that gives a quick, but thorough overview of our program. .

I would welcome the opportunity to provide more information to you and anyone else in your organization who would want to learn more about our exciting fundraising program.

If you like, you may also review our website at www.passport2giving.com. If you have any questions, please contact me via email at danielmartin4834@msn.com. Have a Great Day!!!

Fundraising idea- easy and effective

Hi Angie,

You should check out CharityFusion.com. You can start a fundraiser for your team on there under the Fundraiser tab. Here's a fundraiser I started on there- http://www.charityfusion.com/kids.

You sign up, it's free, it takes 1 or 2 minutes. Then, you choose your benefiting organization(s), which would be your Relay for Life team (you can choose up to 10), and whenever you and other members shop online (they have over 700 stores), a percentag of your purchases go to the organizations you have chosen.

It's the easiest way I have ever raised money. You don't even have to go to that website to start shopping, you just download their plug-in and then whenever you go directly to a website (for example, Bestbuy.com) a message will appear and let you know that your purchases will benefit your charityfusion organizations. There is a video on the site that explains how it works. It's on the homepage, right hand side.

I hope this helps!!! I'm from a small town in Arkansas and this is great for me because I love to shop online since there is not much here!

small town easy reach 2 your community

This is very easy and you will actually reach many of your fellow Relayers in addition to those who have no idea what Relay is.  Ask your local grocery store to sit by the entrance/exit and sell luminaries (ask ahead of time as they get many requests, ask if they provide a table/chair because you may need to bring them).  My Mom and I started this by selling hotdogs but one weekend we couldn't get the hotdog machine so, quite by accident, we learned we made more money without all the hassle by simply accepting donations and selling luminaries.  Of course offer info and brochures, offer a sign up sheet to receive an email or phone call about your next meeting/kick off/fundraiser/date-of event reminder/etc.  If your event has a banner ask if you can borrow it to hang behind your table therefore drawing attention to your cause and The American Cancer Society which holds more weight than Relay For Life to non-Relayers.  We also used this approach to hand out invitation flyers for our Kick Off.

Fund Raisers Small Towns

Hello!

I come from a small town, too, and I know we contribute a lot of enthusiasm, even if don't quite earn as much money. But when you think about it, per capita, we do a pretty good job! I've been involved for about 3 years. My name is Priss Calanni. My husband, Tom, and I are from Ravenna, Ohio, population:12,000! He is a recent cancer survivor (multiple myeloma). We know how lucky we are and we are anxious to “pay it forward”!

I am writing to you because I wanted to share with you something that Tom and I have been working on even before his cancer diagnosis, and it is something big or little towns can use. Actually, it has been a three-year project. We have made a feature length movie that is about cancer and Relay and it is for the benefit of Relay. The movie is called “Expect a Miracle”. As a matter of fact, the title song of the movie is a first place winner in the ACS’s Sharing Hope.TV song contest!

We are currently working with Relays in Illinois, Ohio, and Delaware. These Relays are using the film as fundraisers. We have just begun trying to making contacts and we are very excited at the responses we’ve received from folks who have seen our website.

So, the best way for you to understand what I’m writing about is to go to our website <expectamiraclethemovie.com> You can see the trailer of our movie and read all about the project.

Tom is a retired school administrator; I taught fourth grade for 30 years and believe me we’ve organized the sale of our DVDs so the directions for the sale are easy and well organized…just like you’d expect from two retired teachers! We have a complete kit that includes a DVD of the trailer and all the “wheres and whats” of the sale. The kit and the shipping of the kit are free too!

It's just hard to get the word out any other way. There is a CONTACT link on our site.

Oh, and here is my regular email address, in case you think it is something your group could use. At ant rate:"Relay on"! And good luck!

Thanks, Priss Calanni prissdoor@yahoo.com

Easter Egg Sale

We start taking orders for Easter Egg's at the end of February.  Offering three sizes and three varities.  My aunt organizes this fundraiser for me, she usually makes about $800.00 selling to family, co-workers and fellow relayers.

I could even give you the recipe if your group would be interested.
