Our Relay For Life wants to do a sports theme this year. Does anyone have any good ideas for a slogan? For example One Relay did a super hero theme and their slogan was It's a bird...It's a plane...It's a cure. Any ideas for a sports slogan??
Hello. My name is Terry and this is my third year as a Team Captain and I am also a comity member for our local relay located in Missouri. I don't know that this will help but my first thought was doing baseball and using the theme "Taking a swing at cancer" or football "Touchdown for a cure". I hope this was of some help. I was reading through some of the chitchat comments and I saw you were from Ohio. I’m from Ohio, too. Sorry I can’t help you with your sports theme idea, but I did want to share with you something my husband, Tom, and I have been working on for the last three years. We actually made a movie about Relay, that’s for Relay. The movie is called “Expect A Miracle”. In the middle of the project, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. Right then, the battle against cancer just got a lot more personal.
We were very lucky. His cancer had not spread and after surgery and radiation, he’s now cancer free!
So, anyway we’re now working with relays in Illinois, Deleware, and Pennsylvania. We are hoping that we can generate a lot of money for Relay For Life through our film. Tom has been asked to speak in Illinois at the Relay in Bloomington. He would probably do the same for your group if you’re interested. We’re not that many miles apart.
We worked with about 100 volunteers and we’re all really proud of what we were able to accomplish.
