Have you ever done Relay Idol?  How did you get started?  We are interested in having it as a fundraiser for our event.  We would appreciate any tips you can give us

relay idol

We had relay idol/ mock rock.  we had people sign up and during there performance we had a bucket set out front. when they were done we took the bucket of money and introduced the next act.  the person with the most $$$$ won.

Relay Idol

Last year we did "Relay's Got Talent".  We didn't do it as a FundRaiser, but I'm sure that would be a great idea!!  But we just had Relayers/Teams sign up ahead of Relay so we could figure out timeslots and we blocked them out during mid-day and worked them in between other activities during the day.  Then we had Survivors do the judging (they did this on their own, not in front of the crowd) and around dinner we announced the winners.

Who would have thought there would be so much talent!?  And you know, even though some of the Non-Relay acts were much more polished, the crowds watching their fellow Relayers on stage were much bigger.  People want to see people they know up there.

We also encouraged people to work in a Mission Delivery theme into their acts.  Points were awarded based upon having a Mission, talent and I'm pretty sure kids got extra points for the cuteness factor (does that sound like an adult who lost out to a child, or what!).
