I've read about a few teams doing the yard flamingo fundraisers. I have my flamingos but was wondering how your teams went about collecting donations. Did you go back after 24 hours and knock on their door? Did you leave an envelope, etc?

 Thanks for your help

You've Been Flocked

THIS IS AN AWESOME FUNDRAISER!!!

Our team has done this for 3 years.  We put the flamingos in the yard at dark that way its a surprise come morning.  We have a banner made that says

"You've Been Flocked" Fundraiser for the Relay for Life

To Flock a Friend Call 555-5555

To start it the flocking we typically place in a yard that is a high traffic area,  With the banner stating to flock a friend call you will get tons of phone calls. I took a list of names incase  I needed back up people.  Once you have a person/victim (LOL)  put the banner in the middle of the yard and put the birds around it.  Attach a 8x10 laminted card with a string and wrap it around the neck of a bird  that will be most visiable to the person whom you've just flocked.  The instructions said.....                            You've been flocked by_________________ for a donation of $20 the birds will fly away in 24hrs to the yard of your choice.   Please call  233-3333

This worked so great because it became a game between friends and we made a ton of money.  The way we did allowed for the chain effect and it took the work out trying to guess to put them next Good Luck!!!!

Flamingo Drop

Karen's Kids does a Flamingo Drop, check out the video here on how we run the fundraiser.

We have a note attched to the flamingo with our contact info and how it can be removed. We try to get them moved within 24 hours (sometimes that doesn't happen though.)

A note is the way to go, be sure to explain that they can donate or not donate as well.

Wonderful Fundraiser!

This is a great fundraiser. My team did it several years ago. It is just time consuming. What we did is put out two flamingos with a clear sheet protector that gave the instructions. The price to remove was 10.00, the price to put in someone elses yard was 10.00 and insurance that they never came back was 10.00. If you have a flock and live in a big area. I would suggest having several people do different areas.
