Wanted to share this new fundraising idea from Pulaski County in Kentucky. We are doing our first ever ornament. We contacted a company in Michigan (I would be happy to share their name and contact information) and we had them design (100) 3 1/4" size purple Christmas ornaments that say "Relay For Life of Pulaski County 2008" . Teams will also for a $10 donation for each one and it should bring us alittle over $500 in fundraising money. We will have them at all kick-offs, team captain meetings, survivor dinners, relay for life event and our holiday event. Christmas ornaments tell the story of your life..so I dream of a day when a survivor has a special holiday tree full of relay ornaments from 2008,2009, 2010, 2011, etc.
We are very excited!

Hi-
I ordered some ornaments and am very excited for this fundraiser- thank you for sharing! I was thinking ahead towards selling the ornaments..... what type of payments did you accept? I'm thinking it'd have to be cash only so that I can be reimbursed for $ I put up to have the ornaments made. If people paid by check, it'd have to be made out to one of us vs. ACS so that I can get my money back. Does this make sense? I would appreciate any suggestions of the best way to handle this. Thanks!!

so what did you decide on payments? I am in the same boat I just ordered some and was thinking either cash or check to me, I know one team did t-shirts last year with fight like a girl and I wrote the check to the girls. I am thinking of starting a checking account just for Relay also- that way it isn't my name on the account. I am going to ask tomorrow at the bank about how much needs to be in the account to open it.
