Hi there
I was just wondering whether anyone can help me with how you incorporate the Fightback Ceremony into the Closing Ceremony and still do all the normal patting yourself on the back for the amount raised, hand out all the prizes for various competitions, anounce next year's date, event chair etc, etc without losing the pumped atmosphere created by Fightback? Does Fightback replace the Closing Ceremony or is it a part of it? We thought we might do all the prizes on the Saturday evening and have the Fightback Ceremony on the Sunday morning followed by the amount raised announcement and then the last lap. The Fightback Ceremony completely took my breath away at Dallas Summit and I really would like some input to get it right!
Any ideas / suggestions?
Thanks, Verity (Australia)

Our Relay runs from 8 pm on Friday to 8am Saturday. Our ceremonies chair scheduled the fight back ceremony at midnight to echo the why we relay sentiment. It worked really well and served as a boost to make it the rest of the way. We then did our closing as normal at 8 am.
When I went to Summit, I was under the impression that the Fight Back Ceremony is not in place of closing ceremonies, but instead, an additional ceremony. I double checked with my staff partner and was told that yes, it is an additional ceremony. We plan to have ours at 6:00 a.m. and closing ceremonies at 7:00 a.m.
At the top of the right nav is the "Committee Chair Toolkit". Click on it and in the intro paragraphs, click on the link for the "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back. Guidebook." The closing ceremony, now renamed the Fight Back Ceremony, is discussed at page 59. NOTE: The Guidebook is a very large PDF, so it'll take time to open.

Here is what we are doing for Fight Back! We are a college, so it might be a little bit different for everyone else.
We are making a "boxing ring" in the gym that we are having our Relay. There will be wrestling mats on the floor in a square with four flag poles at the corners. Purple and white streamers are wrapped around the flag poles to make a boxing ring. One of the Chairs is placed in the ring with big red boxing gloves and a microphone.
As participants walk around the track they have their flags and pledge cards. They take their flag and stab it into a big piece of foam and walk into the ring with their pledge and tell everyone how they will fight back against cancer. i.e., "I'm fighting skin cancer this year by putting on sun screen!" We take the foam with flags slap on a banner (the slogan I havn't come up with) and present it to our administrators.
So I guess my question is what should my slogan be? And kinda rush it, my Relay is THIS WEEKEND :-X
