In May of 1999 I lost my Grandmother Myrtle Rader to lung cancer. In 2005 I lost My Aunt Nancy Brand to bone cancer. It is so hard watching someone you love die and there is nothing you can do about it . Both of these women fought brave and hard, but lost their life to this disease. The American Cancer Society allows me to pick up the torch and continue the fight.
My first year I was not even much of a participant being introduced to the Relay For Life NE Portland. My second year I was a team captain and it was a fabulously fun and unforgettable time. I'm now coming upon my third year and I am the Team Development Chair .If you were at the Greatwest Summit in Reno this year you will agree it was the most awesome experience meeting so many other Relayer's.We laughed and cried we danced and sang we traded cards and I came away with the biggest addition yet to my Relay Family. 1100 Relay Fanatic's just like myself.

Wow!!!
My story is so similar to that, I was introduced to Relay 3 yrs ago. I was wrangled into helping a friend out. And I was hooked, last year I was a Team Caption and on the Committee but really did not know much about Relay, This Up Coming Year IS Going to Be the Best Yet. I Love Relay and the feelin I can help someone Else.
