We use Spirit Points or Bucks at our Relay and award a Spirit Award, a perpetual plaque, to the winning team. Traditionally we give out spirit points at team captain's meetings and for other various activities before the Relay. In an attempt to keep the Spirit Award as competitive as possible, I want to award spirit points only during the Relay. I still want to encourage individuals and teams to get involved before the event. To do this I would like to create a new award. It would be exactly like the Spirit Award Program, but for activities outside the Relay for Life promoting the event. I do not know what to name this new award. Please help me out and suggest possible names for such an award. Thanks.
UPDATE: I have decided to call the award the "Relay 365 Award." Teams will be awarded points for representing the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life within the community throughout the year. For example, teams helping staff an informational booth for the Relay For Life at a community fair or farmer's market.

going with the year round theory, you can have your committee carry some of the bucks with them in their wallet/ purse. if they spot someone wearing an event shirt, award some points. make it double on certain days, like if it is you 15th anual relay, on the 15th of each month each person caught wearing an event shirt would get double the bucks.
with my group, if we are out together as a committee, we frequently give an impulse item to a person we spot publicizing relay in some way. it is a happy little treat and gets people to continue marketing relay for us all year.
Having 2 awards is a great idea and perfect for our 2010 Relay. Our mission for this year is "Sharing Hope throughout Dorchester County". We have been signing up for more community events through out the year and are looking to get the teams to participate. We are also trying to reinvigorate participate on the day of Relay. Having 2 awards helps us with these goals.
