Has anyone had any experience in building a balloon arch?? We need to build our own to go over a track and need to approximate how long it will take and how difficult it may be. I did get instructions off the internet, but it only illustrates how many balloons and what size etc. Any advice would be very appreciated!

Balloon arch

The easiest way to do this is to order balloons that are conjoined and have a hole in the center. All you need to do is inflate the balloon and string it through the hole. You can find the balloons at www.flowersincballoons.com. They are called MagicArch balloons.

Never done it but...

A few years ago someone directed me to the following info:

§ Build a balloon arch as an “entry” to your Relay site – Instructions on how to build one can be found at:

http://www.balloonhq.com/faq/deco_decor_101.html#arches

There is an impressive level of information there! And, the following document provides some perspective on time required:

http://www.balloonhq.com/faq/deco_pricing.html

suggests that a 8’x8’ balloon arch should take an experienced person about 6-7 hours to make by themselves… Allowing for less experienced people who have instructions on what to do, it seems as if 2 people might be able to build one comfortably in about 10 hours (with a little time pad).

And the second link suggests more time than Melissa, who also posted, suggested it takes. Since she's done it :) I'd defer to her, but you might try e-mailing the contacts at the website above and see if you can get some perspective! Good luck!

Have never built one to go

Have never built one to go over a track, but did make one a couple years ago for a graduation party at school.  The arch was placed in front of the double doors where the students entered the room.  It took two of us about an hour and a half.  We alternated filling the ballons and tying off to the rope for the arch.  Wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be once we got the hang of it...Good luck!
