Ellen, I wrote a song called "Lifesong" which is about Relay and survivors. It is used at many events. The words may be appropriate for what you're trying to do. Here they are (If they don't format properly let me know and I will email them to you):
LIFESONG
ALL ACROSS AMERICA
WE ARE HITTING OUR STRIDES.
WE ARE MOVING OUT TOGETHER,
WE ARE WALKING SIDE BY SIDE.
WE'RE THE ONES WHO MADE IT,
WE'RE THE ONES WHO SURVIVED,
WE'RE THE REASON FOR THIS WEEKEND,
WE'RE THE RELAY FOR LIFE.
IT'S ABOUT LOVE,
IT'S ABOUT HOPE,
IT'S ABOUT LIVING A MIRACLE
AND LEARNING TO COPE.
IT'S ABOUT BEING A COMMUNITY
THAT TAKES UP THE FIGHT.
IT'S ABOUT FINDING A CURE FOR CANCER.
IT'S THE RELAY FOR LIFE.
WE COME IN ALL SHAPES AND COLORS,
AND IN ALL SIZES TOO.
WE'RE ADULTS, WE ARE SENIORS,
WE ARE TEENS AND CHILDREN TOO.
NOW WE LINK OUR HANDS IN FRIENDSHIP
TO FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT.
LET US ALL JOIN IN TOGETHER.
IT'S THE RELAY FOR LIFE.

This song is a dedicated to Relay For Life, the Nationwide Signature Event of the American Cancer Society.
Where can I find this song?? I have searched online, but do not see it. I would like to hear it and possibly use it for our survivor lap during the opening ceremony.
Thanks,
Charna

We are working on our survivor reception and walk. I came across your blog about the song Lifesong and was wondering if you happend to find a copy of it. We would like to use it for one of our survivor lap songs and are having a hard time finding a copy of it to play.
Could you help me out in getting a copy?
Thanks,
Lisa
