I posted something about this before and got a few positive reactions, and then was thinking, well, you probably dont hear from people who dont like the idea. Thats what I need too! So maybe some new viewers.

My idea for luminaria is to play and maybe get the crowd to sing along on the chorus, the song The End of the Line - here  http://www.panhala.net/End_of_the_Line.html  You will know it I think. We may also play it softly while we walk as we have a half mile walk around a nice pond - thats a very long time to try to stay quiet. We may have a singer sing along over the song during the ceremony, after a poem THAT I GOT FROM HERE THAT IS AWESOME  - MORE OF A READING I GUESS BUT THANKS!!!

It strikes me as having a message for everyone at Relay, including survivors of course. But I am wondering is it to sort of upbeat or happy? for what I think is most often a very serious and contemplative ceremony. I am a survivor and have spoken alot and I LOVE it. I dont think there is anything wrong with a more upbeat song like this? I know you cant please everyone. I love to have music as part of speeches and ceremonies because then whenever people hear it again they remember the Relay.

End of the line

I too am a survivor and just finished my 9th RFL.  I was on our Luminary Committee and listened to the song--and love it.  You have my vote.
