I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd pipe in. Our team tried something similar our first year. We did circular stepping stones and made ribbons out of plastic pebbles, offering different colored ribbons. (If you want the site I got the plastic pieces from, let me know). We then personalized them for free..they would either say "IN HONOR OF" or "IN MEMORY OF" across the top then the persons name at the bottom. You can buy letter stamps in the stepping stone/mosiac section in your local craft store.
Unfortunately, they didn't sell. I don't know if we didn't market them well enough or what the problem was. I think we sold about 5 or so. Very disappointing.
One bit of advice I do have for anybody that should try this. Find some way to seal the stones. We felt they needed some sort of sealant, but couldn't find anything that would work that wouldn't eat the plastic. Please be aware also, we discovered that the ribbons faded badly in the sun.
GOOD LUCK!

What a good idea! This might be something I play with later on. I did find on the Michael's Craft Store site a ribbon cake pan.

I think this is an amazing idea and I'd love to know if there are any results yet. Any best practices? Who sells the best "mold?" What kind of concrete did you use? How much did you sell them for? Was the idea successful? Please give us an update - this is a very creative idea that I'd love to do in my community's Relay.
