CoCaptains met this afternoon and TRIED to register TEAM JOYCE. Not much luck with it, but at least I have registered as a person. We made a list of events that we want to schedule over the comming months. More on that when we get it going.

We (our committee) are organising our 2nd Realy for Life in Falkirk (a small town in Central Scotland, UK) and we were wondering since you guys have orginised hundereds of these events for many years we thought who better to ask for a little help, than you guys!

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated as this years event raised £47,000, about $76,00 and we're planning on going bigger and better since the Relay for Life is only a couple of years old in the UK.

We asked a national drinks manufacturer to sponsor the event next year, unfortunately they've only promised to donate water for the event, however, every little bit helps.

Sacred Heart Moo Duk Kwan Karate Club; a ministry of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will be sponsoring a Relay for Life Team for 2010. The Co-Captains; Kyle Christmas a Junior at Pasco High School and Carl Waldron Media Specialist for Pasco County school Moore Mickens, have joined togeather to direct and lead the team. Their goals of recruitment are high as they look to involve family, friends, coworkers and other students of the U.S. Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation® in and around Central Florida.

We Relay for all those we know who survived cancer or died from it. By working together one day we will find a cure for cancer and no one will suffer.

During our, going on four years of my sister Sherry's breast cancer battle, we have had little to hope for.  Beginning in May 2006, she was diagnosed with stag 3c breast cancer. To be honest, I knew then that this was not going to end well for her. I saw the size of the tumor before her surgery, but I continue to love and support her. It was from the day of her surgery that her battle began. Most everyone is aware of a breast cancer patients routine, chemo, radiation, more chemo. more radiation, and the beat goes on. However, Sherry's cancer wouldn't stop, NOTHING would stop it! It spread first to her lymph nodes, then to her bones. It was while our mother was undergoing a lung transplant, that we began seeing signs that something had gone terribly wrong with Sherry. You know, cause our family wasn't going through enough with our mother, lets add another log to the already out of control fire!

We have just made it home from a full day of Relay for Life seminar! WOW what a wonderful organization ACS truly is. Their mission statement tells you just exactly what this group does and who it is.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based volunteer health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service

On October 31, 2009 Relay For Life  Committee in Ballard County Kentucky is holding its' inaugural event of "Bark For Life".  We have a fun day planned for pets and owners at the LaCenter Park.  We'll have opening ceremonies with "a blessing of the animals" followed by Paws of Hope (memory, honor, and support) paw print recognition.  The mile walk lead by cancer survivors (people and canines) will lead the walk  through the park.  Relay teams are invited to set up fundraising tables and all donations are credited to the team that is fundraising.  Pet photos will be available, water for people and canines, and food and beverages.  An animal rescue group, Creatures Great and Small, will have canines available for adoption and Murray/Calloway County Human Society will be there as well.  There will be contests for the cutest Halloween costume, look-alike, best tail wagger and much, much more! 

While our 2009 Relay For Life/Hancock County, IL 62321 was a success, I want for 2010 to be an even bigger success. A much bigger success!!! Last year we got a late start and I am proud to say with only 2 months to do fund raising prior to out 2009 Relay For Life our team was still able to raise over $800 for our team and as a community we raised approx $83,000 which is impressive since we are a small community!

Now getting into the 2010 Relay For Life, We as a team are starting earlier with hopes to gain new members, sponsors and increase our fund raising dollar totals. Myself and the entire Fishing for a Cure team is looking forward to you joining in with to helf battle this disease that destroys so many people.

Cancer does NOT just affect the person who has cancer, it affects us ALL! Friends, family, loved ones, co-workers anybody that knows a person who has cancer is affected in one way or another!

Hello Everyone,

                    I am the Team Captain for the Riddlesburgh Bible Church in Riddlesburgh PA, and we walk at the Saxton PA, Relay for Life and we need some ideas on fundraisers to do now to get things started . Trying to stay away from the usual like Hoagies, candles, candy for this time of the year our school children are selling this stuff of sports or other actvities so any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

My name is Joanne Suyam of Baguio City Philippines. I was diagnosed of having Hodgkin's Lymphoma- Stage 3 in January 2009. Through he help of some relatives and concern citizens, I was able to raise fund for my chemotherapy.
I have finished the therapy for eight months but I still need to undergo Linear Accelerator (LINAC) Radiation for a month to kill the remaining cancer cells. Since their is no LINAC in a government hospital, i have to to to a private one (The Medical City in Pasig City).
