New Functions on RelayForLife.orgI'm excited to share with you all some new functionality that was recently added to RelayForLife.org. On most pages, you can click a link at the bottom of the page to open the page in .pdf (note: you need Adobe Reader to open the page in .pdf version), or you can open a "printer-friendly" version of the page. When the pages open or print, each link on the page will have a number associated with it and the link URLs will be listed (like footnotes) at the bottom of the pdf or printed page. This will help you to know where the images or links point to when sharing the printed or pdf versions of the pages. Jeff Montegut – November 11, 2009 – 7:56am

HelpMy profile says I'm new to Relay, but that's not really true. I'm a teacher and a fellow collegue got us involved in the Relay a few years ago. We participated for about 4 years and then disbanded. Well, that colleague/cancer survivor/friend has been diagnosed with advanced small cell cancer and will start chemo after Thanksgiving. My school wants to do something special for the ACS and her. Any suggestions? We want to wear ribbons or pins, but don't know the color for that type of cancer. Any ideas? And is purple for cancer survivors or a universal cancer color? Is there such a thing as a universal color for all cancers. Thanks, Suz suzscholl – November 10, 2009 – 9:02pm

Minorly OverwhelmedWell, the group wants me as the team captain. Never done this before, so I've been doing a lot of reading and thinking. We've decided that my Rottie is going to be the mascot (cause he's a big loveable lug and cause we can have him pull his cart as we make rounds around the other tents with food or items. He loves to work!) We're naming the team after him too, so I am as proud as a puppy mama can be. :) Hopefully we can make this work.. femgeek – November 10, 2009 – 2:09pm

Ready, Set, Go!!Hey Everyone, Attended the Academy this past weekend. As a three time Cancer Survivor it was heart warming to see how many people take time out of their busy lives to train to make Relay a success. I received a lot of good information that will help make for a sucessful "Cancer Heroes" team in 2010. Last year our team consisted of 27 members of which 21 were Survivors. We unfortunetly lost a 2010 member, Gary Owens, to the disease last month but we have added three other Survivors to our fold and we will all walk to honor those who fight and remember those we have lost. If you are a Survivor and have not yet been a part of a Relay team I invite you to join us in the Fight against Cancer. To find out more just check out the Cancer Heroes web site here at Relay For Life and find out how. Looking forward to having fun and raising money to help in the fight.

Help the American Cancer Society win $50,000 TODAY ONLYToday is the last day of the "America's Giving Challenge" on Facebook. Simply put, the charity with the most number of donations (not donation amount) by 3pm ET today will win $50,000. So, Relayers, what are you waiting for? Go to http://www.causes.com/americancancersociety and make a donation (any amount will do). At the moment I'm posting this blog, we are number 49 on the list (and need at least 14,000 more donations within the next 2.5 hours). The great thing about Relay is that we have such a vast network of volunteers that 14,000 is actually a simple number, if every Relayer just made a $1 donation. All it really takes is 3 minutes of your time. Get the word out to all of your Relay communities...the clock is ticking!! Jeff Montegut – November 6, 2009 – 1:31pm
