For weeks that is all I seem to be able to say!

Franklin County Relay For Life ROCKED!

We were great in '08! We have passed that $180,000 goal and just keep going!

Unfortunatly our event was called at 11pm due to a horrible storm heading our way.

Team Captains did an excellent job recruiting team members and fundraising! I still can't believe the number of people who attended and everyone was busy visiting the booths and having a great time! The track was packed.

Our Luminaria service was very special.... It is still such a powerful and meaningful moment.

So....how great are we over $208,000 and more money rolling in!!!! WOW!!!!

Bless you all! Your dedication is unbelievable!

Rolette County North Dakota Relay for Life July 11, 2008

Our Relay was a success beyond our expectations. Rolette County, ND is a small rural county in the middle of farm country and adjacent to Manitoba, Canada. We set a goal of $55,000 and 22 teams for this year.

We have our relay at a high school athletic field in St. John, ND. The weather was expected to be somewhat windy for the afternoon and early evening. As it happened it continued to blow at speeds up to 30 mph all night. The temperatures dipped into the 50s in the early morning. We were able to adjust by moving all the night games and activities into a building that the local 4H clubs were using for the weekend. The Luminaria ceremony went off on time with over 2000 Luminarias in place. About 10 burned throughout the night, the others blew out as soon as they were lit. Needless to say it was dark.

Two days before at least 6 tornados ran through the area within a few miles of our event site. A number of houses were severely damaged and there were a few injuries. The wind, the tornadoes and the cool night had little effect on our relay. The track was busy all night. The most laps covered award went to a brother sister duo who did 89 laps each plus one more for the ending survivors lap.

Stadium Cups

Does anyone know where I can get some of the RFL Stadium cups? These are not the ones with the "healthy living tips" on one side - I was able to find those. What I'm looking for is the cup that has RFL logo and ACS contact information on one side and then the Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back. logo on the other side. I have one, but need several more. I couldn't find them on the rfl gear website. What about styrofoam/paper cups? I would also like some of those if there is such a thing!

alright so before i wrote about not having a team and everything. well now everything is going great!!! i have a team and t-shirt and we are registered and everything now i just have to work on the camp theme and stuff like that. i am so excited i am waling the 3-4 am spot and my old babysitter(who is 18 now) is gong to walk with me!!! it will be so cool. she is like my older sister i never had!! anyway i am so excited. well got to go.

This is always a hard time of the year. My dad always does the Relay for Life where he lives. My grandmother, grandfather and aunt on my dad's side all died of lung cancer. I know how important it is to find a cure or a better way to help treat cancer.

I also have a brothern-in-law, who is a suvivor of colon cancer. I hope that well all take a few moments and remember the good times and why we do this!!!
