It was perfect weather at the Relay For Life of Platte/Columbus in Nebraska and everyone was in good spirits. We were joined by the Columbus mayor as well as State Senator Arnie Stuthman, who were recognized by Nebraska Government Relations Director David Holmquist.
involved in Relay in multiple ways: as a large team; hosting a "kissing booth" just by the track (which sold snacks, not kisses, but was very cute), putting a pictorial slide show together for after the luminaria ceremony; and other activities.
Picturing A Cure at Relay
I was happy to get the chance to attend the Relay For Life of Comal County in New Braunfels, Texas on April 27. Cristi McAnelly, the community manager for this event, was a warm hostess for my participation. I haven't yet heard the total amount raised, but it was a great turnout and the people present had a wonderful spirit. This was also a CPS-3 site, so I registered to be a participant. It only took 10-15 minutes and the volunteers and health care professionals were very nice. I included a photo of the CPS-3 tent, and the woman who drew my blood.
  There were several Society advocacy banners hanging around the field, and volunteers distributed and collected the paper Picture A Cure forms. At least two Celebration ambassadors helped with this event, including Cynthia Vetter who is photographed from the stage.
