A little background info on me.

 This will be my first year participating in Relay for life. I recently lost my mother to cervical cancer in May of 2007. Prior to my mother's diagnosis she was perfectly happy and seemed to be a very healthy person. No one in our family had a clue she was ill.

 In late Feburary of 2007 My mother stated she felt week and told my sisters and I she had post-menopause bleeding for about a year, and her reasons for not telling us was she didn't want us to worry. My mother was admitted to the hospital and on March 15th she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My mother received a few weeks of radiation in the hope that they could get the lesions to shrink but unfortunately 6 very short weeks later on May 2, 2007 my mother lost her fight.

 My whole family and I will be participating this year in relay for life and I am currently working to set up a cervical cancer foundation in my mother's name.
