Making my list...

Yes!! I have 4 friends who have "committed" for me!  I'm getting very excitedLaughing A friend of mine, Jen, said she has participated in the Laporte relay and said it was great fun, each team had booths set up for food, etc to look at and buy from to raise even more money and they had entertainment running throughout the event to give those not walking something to do.  I don't think I will be at a loss for something to do if I'm surrounded by my girlfriends!

Sara has even asked if she can come with me for a little while to walk around the track.  I'm more than happy to get her involved in something for such a good cause.  Unfortunately, she never met my granny, but she will know plenty about her by the time this event is over with.

Getting started....

Must be the cheerleader in me coming out (I got a bit excited when I saw reference to the spirit stick!) or just that little nagging feeling in me that wonders what I have done in my life that I've been proud of.  I ran across this Relay for Life idea by accident just surfing around on the net and it just really stuck with me.  Someone who made a huge impact on my life, my Granny, passed away from Lung cancer when I was in college in 1995.  I have also lost my grandfather on the other side of my family to cancer.

I am so blessed to have "too many" wonderful girlfriends and our busy lives just don't allow for much time together.  So I thought this would be a great opportunity to get together for a night and raise some money for a great cause!!

So now, let the planning begin...man, I hope I can convince some of these wonderful girlfriends to join up or I just might have to revert back to cheerleading days and have a fundraising carwash or something!
