E-Cards

Are you registered on line?

When you register your team on line you have a great opportunity to increase funds raised and share stories.  Personalizing your page helps encourage those you e-mail to donate.  How easy can it get?  E-mail is a great way to reach a large number of family and friends.  Relay For Life has provided us with all the letters and thank you's.  You can even track if your e-mail was read and if they looked at your site.

But have you sent an e-card?  At the top of the main page you will find Fundraising Ideas.  Listed in the drop down is Send an E-card.  You will see a variety of post cards to send to the same family and friends as follow up or even send to your team mates.  Remind them of events or even remind them to send out letters!  Again, can it get any easier?

Here is a testmony from a team that used the e-card:

From Kim, 2008 Team Captain

Hey Bethany. I wanted to drop you a quick email and say "thank you" for the
advice on sending out the postcard to my address book. I did it and I have
already gotten 2 donation committments. Wow! Therefore this is proof that the
emails do work. I actually wrote up my own little letter on Word, making it a
little more personal, and attached it to the postcard. If there are other
small teams like ours struggling to get donations then please forward this
email to them so as to offer some encouragement. I am going to send a follow
up email to those I sent the postcard to, probably next week.

More reasons to Relay!

Memorial Golf Outing

Frankfort Relay For Life Kick Off was the first of February.  Leslye intended to captain her team for 2008.  Things didn't go as planned.  Leslye was tragically killed in an auto accident.  The day of kick off her friend Tonya attended with Leslye's daughter, what a tribute to a mother and friend!  I have been so touched by the dedication to step up and fill Leslye's shoes as Team Captain.

I am so proud of this teams dedication and drive to make this year special and successful.

One of the Many Reasons We Relay!

Cinderella Story

Relay is Rewarding

Team Frankfort Police Explorers found their current fundraiser very rewarding.  This team accepted donations of formal wear.  With Prom approaching the dresses (some shoes) were offered to youth at great prices (no dress over $60).  Some dresses still had the tags on them.

One night a young lady was brought by to "shop", the next day the team recieved the following note:

You can't imagine what you have given her, not just the dress but to be just like everyone else that will be at the prom.  Her face last night when you were pulling the dresses was something. Thank you for letting her and everyone else that you help, because without you they may never have an experience like that.  I greatly enjoy giving young students these experiences and without people like you I could never make it happen.  She has already shown several people the pictures that we took last night.

Team Captains Working Hard for Relay!

Less than 70 days till Frankfort Kentucky's Relay For Life

Team Captains have been working hard to raise money and reach our goal of $180,000

Fundraisers include: Car Wash, Yard Sale Hop, Silent Auctions, Kiss the PigKiss, Bake sales, Gospel and Bluegrass concerts, cookbooks, Pony Tail Donations, Comedy Club nights. One of my favorites is recycling formal wear.  We had a team collect dresses and sell them.  No dress was over $60 and some still had tags. Memorial Golf Scramble and Fundraisers in the schools.

Everyones dedication keeps me motivated.  I am very proud to be a part of such a caring group of people.

Our theme is Relay Around The World.  We have some great theme ideas!  Commonwealth Credit Union has chosen "Walk Like an Egyptian" For a Cure.

Fundraising in Frankfort KY

I am so proud of Frankfort Relay For Life Team Captains!

This past Saturday three teams raised over $1,000 (exact amount is unknown)

Money mouthBank vs Credit Union

American Founders Bank challenged Commonwealth Credit Union to a basketball game. Now, as Team Developement Chair for Franklin County, you can imagine I am very competitive and love a challenge. As an employee of Commonwealth Credit Union I was not about to pass a chance to show a Bank what a Credit Union is all about. Well, I will admit right now I talk way to much "smack" (as the younger ones would say). CCU did lose the gameCry, but the Real winner was Relay For Life! Around $800 was raised via $3 admission and concession stand. The teams had a lot of fun and it was a great morale booster for staff! What a Win Win situation!
