For the first time in Relay For Life's 25-year history, the participants themselves will select the nationwide Relay For Life shirt design. Three artists have created one-of-a-kind Relay designs based on next year's theme, "Celebrating 25 Years of HOPE." Let us know which YOU think best represents your Relay For Life experience.

Voting will be open from 8:00 a.m. ET on May 19, 2008 until 5:00 p.m. ET on June 1, 2008.
The winning design will be posted on the home page of RelayForLife.org on June 2, 2008.
The winning design will appear on 2009 Relay For Life t-shirts and promotional materials.

My name is Bernadette Romano and I have been the luminaria chairperson for the Pacific  Palisades for the last three years

over the last three years we not only did a hand picked auction - we did  a silent auction

We have received donations of a Joe Montana Signed Football to Louis Liocari hair spa in Beverly Hills and also Erin Condren the stationer in Los Angeles  - gave us a basket of goodies totaling 500 dollars - inc a gift certificate of 100

Recently one of our favorite restaurants decided to give a  donation of 20% of the bills for lunch and dinner to the relay - and also give a  generous donation himself

What I found useful in getting out the word of a relay is thinking of all the places that have bulletin Boards or think of all the places that people frequent such as restaurants and Grocery retailers such as Gelsons or Ralphs who were very generous

We just held our first Relay for Life program and utilized an Access to Power Point program provided by our ACS rep.

For the life of me, I don't know how we could have possibly entered all the names if we had more than we had this year. (414 luminarias). I was entering names right up till 8:30 PM. To complicate things, I couldnt see my laptop screen when I was outdoors and had to find a closet in the school to do my keying in.

I would love to hear how others handle this cumbersome process?

I created a video very much like this one back in 2006 when we actually did this hike but tonight when I was playing around with iMovie I decided I wanted to redo it. And so here it is, in all it's glory, to be used to help inspire people around here (and remind myself) that there are a whole lot more fundraising ideas than just making the ask (although that is a very important tool!).

Helping to put the FUN back in fundraising... :D
