Bartholomew County (Columbus, Indiana) Teams?

Hello. I was just wondering if there are any other Team Captains, or team memembers for any of the teams involved in the Bartholomew County (Columbus, Indiana) Relay for Life?

I am Team Captain for "Team Remembering Kaitlyn", just wondering if anyone has any informtion about our Relay? Any suggestions for raising money, on-site fundraisers, etc.

 Thank you

Survivor online registration

This is my 3rd year as survivorship chair for my relay (almost 10 yr involvement).  Since we no longer are using kintera, how are other chairs receiving information on survivors who register online for their survivor's lap?  I miss being able to personally contact my new and returning survivors.  I'm told that my local ACS office can run a report for me, but that seems to be an additional and unnecessary step.  Suggestions, comments?

New Luminaria Position

HI!

I have taken on the position as Luminaria Chair. I am currently my father's secondary caretaker. (My mother being primary) of course the hardest thing I have ever had to do. I am BRAND new at this (both caretaking and Relay) I have never even been to a Relay. I am very happy to take this on. I am however green and emotional! I would love some support and ideas on how to hold it together for the night. As emotional as I am I do tend to be upbeat and I know the Luminaria ceremony is a solemn one...which I plan it to be, but I would like to hear what you all think if there were a bit of positivity to it... in order to keep myself and others there from completely losing it. Or is it best to keep it as it supposed to be...a time to crack.

I am crying my eyes out looking for songs right now!Cry

Why I Relay

In 2001 my little sister gave the Keynote address at the Hubbard County Realey for Life. She had had a Bone Marrow Transplant because she had a rare form of cancer call  Burkitts Lymphoma. From her speach I remember one quote "I have alot of living to do". Unfortunately my Sister lost her battle September 19, 2001. She was 22 years old.

About a year later my Mother was diagnosed with borderline stage four Breast Cancer a year after that my Granny was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Both received treatments and survived the battle. Than after beating Breast Cancer my Granny died this last January from another form of cancer in in lung area. Not really lung cancer but, I don't remember the name of it.

As you can see Cancer has affected my life alot in the last few years. not only have these three people whom I was and am very close to been affected but also many many Aunts and other relatives. Many have died and many are still undergoing treatments.
