hey every one!!

i hope your having as great of time as i am raising money for our team

 only one question...

where do i get the chaperone forms that the parents have to fill out...?

not the ones on the relay website.. the other ones

and  is it one chaperone for every fifteen kids right? because on the chaperone forms off of the relay websites say that it is five per child and i wasnt sure if i need more parents to tagg along with me...

also, does each child have to fill out a specifc form? or not because im still kind of fuzzy about that

and for luminaria... im doing the miramar relay at everglades and we have a ton of people we would love to honnor during luminaria and i dont know which forms to fill....

thanks!!

Baseball fundraiser

My team is having a fundraiser at the local little league opening day this weekend.  Here is what we are doing....

We have access to the equipment that is used to clock the speed of a pitch....So we are going to have a "How Fast Can You Pitch" tent set up.  I need some help with how we should run it though.  We haven't been able to decide how much we should charge, or if we should make it a game (ex. Guess your 3rd pitch, win a prize).  We have said $1.00 per pitch or $3.00 to play the "Guess Your Speed" game, but I'm not sure if that is the way to do it.  We also have thougt to just charge $1.00 per pitch and let the kids decide how many times they want to throw.  We are going to have a "Scoreboard" with the top 10 speeds so the kids will be able to see who is fastest.  I kinda think that just having the scoreboard will be enough incentive to get kids to play.  I dunno.... Any ideas???

I need to raise $100

Hello friends and family! I am participating in the Relay for Life event as part of the Esquire Team here in Bolivar, MO. We have personal goals to each raise at least $100 toward the cause. I would love for you to help me out by financially supporting me in any way that you can.

 Thank you!

Julie

Survivor Celebration

As newly appointed survivor chair, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the survivor celebration.  We hope for our Relay to get all the survivors under a large tent donated by the local junior college.  There they can register, get their shirts, collect a balloon, have a seat, talk with others, etc. until the opening ceremonies.  I was wondering if anyone had ideas on foods, items to have at the tent, etc.

We've tossed around the idea of a goody bag with maybe an apple, granola bar, bottle of water, etc.  and having a table with "snacks"...our event is May 30-31...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED =)

ATTENTION RHS FRIENDS OF THE COMMUNITY CLUB MEMBERS:

Just a reminder to you all that we need to get out there and get donations to support the Amercian Cancer Society

Advertising Yard Signs

Our Relay is located in a rural area.  The towns surrounding our Relay are the same.  Has anyone used yard signs, like political signs, to advertise their Relay?  If so what did you have printed on them and was the investment worth it?

Thanks!

What is the money used for?

I had a question from a donor.  She asked what the money raised for Relay for Life is used for.  She wanted specifics.  Is there a breakdown of how the money is spent anywhere online?  She was concerned about what percentage of the funds goes to publicity, etc, versus directly to research and patient care.

Thanks in advance for your feedback! Smile

SUCCESS!!!!

On our Relay Kickoff I made a team and we are now called Callaway Against Cancer. I have "recruited" most of my classmates and have introduced them into this world of hope, faith, and internal courage to shine the light of victory over cancer.  This has made me aware that not only the good and kind hearted are involved but the rough and gruff people as well.  I just want to say thanks to all of my teammates and thank you ACS for helping me join the fight against cancer.

Sincerely yours

Curtis Underwood

Selling ad space in program book

We are putting together a program booklet to hand out to RElay participants that will include schedule of events, sponsors, committee members, etc.  We'd like to sell ad space in this booklet to help offset printing costs.  Has anyone done this before?  If so, what did you charge for the ad space?  Did you get much response?  Any ideas/input would be greatly appreciated!
