We are blocking at day at our local bowling alley and have a bunch of ideas for the bowling fundraiser. My question is this--If anyone has already done a bowling fundraiser-did they open it up to the public or have it just for Relay teams and their friends/family. We having some concern about the actual 'logistics and accounting' of something like this. Did your bowling form ask WHO they wanted the donation to go to.. ie: a RFL team or RFL indiv?? How does the banking/acct work with it? Also-if you ask for a per pin donation.. then you have a lag time to collect the donations.. would be great to have everything turned in at the event... pros..cons??? we thought about having a silent auction going on in the party room for the parents who come...
I read some where for the relay 4 Life about the Relay Princess and I would like to know if anyone can give me any more information on it. My girls and I have been doing relays for the last 4 years, because of my Neice who lost the battle 3 years ago.
I am a co-chair and we would love to have the relay princess as a new add to our relay this.

Wow, this is a Super Week for us here in Illinois. By now, I'm sure many of you are getting ready for the big game. For those of you in "Super Tuesday" states, don't forget to vote on Tuesday. The men and women we elect will be critical to our fight for access to care and the fight against cancer
If you're looking for some last minute Super Sunday recipes, here are some that are full of veggies and flavor and low on saturated fats.
Vegetarian Chili: Modify this recipe by rinsing all the canned beans and corn. Add 1 cup water or vegetable broth. You'll make the recipe much healthier!!
Hey everyone, as 2007 ended we are fortunate to roll in a new year. Welcome to 2008! I can honestly say that being a member of the Relay For Life is the best thing to happen to me... ever. When I was 16 my older sister had participated in a Relay with her friends for her college. She absoutley loved it but wished she was more involved than just simply "being there," which is where I come in. In 2007, I was devoted to help out, so I joined the Relay For Life and began my own team. I participated in one event at Frontier High School in Hamburg and had an amazing time. I was a team captain and got a few of my friends invoved, little did I know how much effort was put into this amazing foundation. My mom soon decided to help out and we raised around $100. Which was a little donation compared to the major contributions, however that only motivated me to do more. I am so eger to get the ball rolling and hopfully get involved in at least two more relays this year. I plan on doing pre foundrasing and more for this event, to help people with cancer around the world. Here are a few Relay's I hope to make a difference at:
Does anyone out there have ideas for doing a Team of the Relay?? Last year at our Relay, we did this but only did it during Relay. We had 24 hours of events/activities/games that teams could participate in and earn points for. Points varied (more points during 2am-5am, or for more challenging "out of the box" games, and mission/advocacy-related games), and anyone that participated could earn points for their team, plus winners earned additional points.
We are always happy to see Gram come down to the Relay Camp. She is an inspiration for all. She will be there this year, weather permitting, and hopefully do the Track , of course with assistance, but she is always ready and willing. We love to have her there.
