High Plains Leadership Weekend

For those of you in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri, your Task Forces were hard at work this weekend, planning for '08 and beyond.  We have such awesome opportunities in our division, with 720 events - more than any other division out there!

For those of you division and region leaders out there, do you have strategic plans?  We ask our events to craft their plan, complete the 1,000 Day Journey, but do you for your leadership efforts?  How will you train?  Is relayforlife.org part of your plan?  How will you support increases as opportunities for new events decline?  (I'm askin' because I'm lookin' for ideas!!)

I'm excited to help my division with our training plan, making sure we are doing what we need to today to meet our future needs as we change and grow.

Last but not least, our weekend ended with a fitting tribute to Victoria Enmon, a Hero of Hope and amazing young woman whom we lost earlier this year to her fight with cancer.  Her mother surprised us all by being there, and she spoke in such a positive, uplifting manner.  Even when you've done this for 10 years, it's so important to remember why we do this - and to keep fighting!

Survivor, New Team Captain, ready to relay

Hi, My name is Linda, I'm a survivor and I've just been assigned to be captain of our RFL team, Faith Followers. I'm a stay at home wife with plenty of time on my hands and I'm going to devote much of my time to getting my team rolling and do fundraisers and whatever it takes to finding a cure for this terrible disease. But as I said I'm new and can use all the advise anyone can give me on how to have the best team I can have.    Thanks ,  Linda

Why I walk for Cancer

Cry I walk for the American Cancer Society because of the family members and friend I have lost to cancer.  There has been so many family and friends that I felt it was my time to step up and help raise the money for cancer research.

Looking for a sample sponsorship form to give team for friends

Hello fellow Relayers.  I'm in need of your expertise.  We had a team meeting last night and in discussing our team progress somebody requested that I type up a sponsorship form for them.  They have a hard time just asking for donations, they thought it would be easier to ask people to sponsor them and have a form to fill out.

I'm not talking about corporate sponsors (I've got these forms), I'm talking about friends and family.  So I didn't know if there's a sample on here somewhere that I just haven't found yet.  Or if maybe any of you have done something similar.

Or if you might have some suggestions on wording.  I've got an idea, but you'll probably have something that I'm not thinking of.  So any input would be appreciated!

Thanks!
