Looking for a twin relay event

Hi!

I am a Chair on a Relay committee over in England and we are holding our second Relay on a farm in Cambridge on September 13-14th 2008. We are looking for other Relays that are happening on these dates to have a chat with and exchange ideas etc. If anyone can help that will be great, as we are new to Relay over here!

Cheers

Bradley is very EXCITED about the relay

Cool  Bradley is really excited about the Relay. He is 7 yrs old and he totally understands the importance of raising money to help find a cure. Bradley has felt first hand of losing someone with cancer, while in the hospital Brad roomed with Jacob, a 4 yr old, when we left before he did he was feeling really good. 2  weeks after leaving we found out he had earned his wings. Bradley started asking questions of why, how and everything else that goes through a little kids head. Bradley says to us "Atlease a gave him a toy before he passed so he remembered me" So Bradley will walk this Relay for himself, Jacob, and all his other cancer friends he has met. It meant alot to us that he wanted to do this on his own. COURAGE, PRIDE and most of all LOVE! Thats what fills this 7 yr olds little body.

Flooded

I am truley feeling as thou the area is over flooded with Relay Events. I am finding it harder and harder to raise money.

One hand it's good. The money is coming in either way. For smaller teams..it is getting harder and harder.

To top things off..our Relay has been moved. We all tried to do our part last year not using stakes, and we get the boot anyway.

I started earlier this year trying to raise money, and already I am getting "We already gave to so-in-so for so-in-so Relay. Do we really need on in EVERY town?

update on my boy

SmileHello all,

My son Andrew begins his 4th round of chemo today. Hopefully this will be his last. In a month the doctors are running a full body CT scan on him, and hopefully our prayers will be answerd, and he will be cancer free. This young man has been so strong, and that has helped his family here at home to be strong. We never give up HOPE...it is what keeps us going.

Please continue to keep Andrew in your prayers. He is also talking to the doctors today to see when he may get to come home for awhile. That will be a special day for his little brothers and the rest of his family...

God Bless....

SUGGESTED TEAM NAME: THE NOBLE CRUSADERS

THE NOBLE CRUSADERS are hard at work.  We have obtained a team name, a provider for team costumes and tent.

We are soliciting ideas for money making projects for our team.

I am a breast cancer survivior.  I love relay, sometimes it is a heavy load,

not because of the time or work but because of the personal knowledge you

have of all the struggles of people going through cancer ex. We have a boy 9

years old who had to have his leg cut off up to his knee.  The chemo has damages his

little heart so badly that he can no longer tolorate treatments, and is not a canidate for a heart tranplant.

A young women my Daughters ade 34 is going in for a lompectomy today, she has 5 childern.

I am sure all of you have similar stories, thats why we relay, just needed to share with someone who would under stand.  Good liuck on your relays  Susan from Morgan UT.
