Donate to Save Lives!

Hi,Laughing

I hope this finds you well. As I head into my third term here at Seattle Pacific University I will be participating in Relay for Life. I am here to ask you for your help as my team and I walk the school track from noon on May 17 to 8:00am on may 18. You can help by either donating to the cause r simply praying for the individuals fighting against this disease as well as for the families of those individuals. A dollar here and a dollar there add up quickly and every little bit helps and is very much appreciated.

I want to thank you for your time and in advance for your donation to the cause, either by prayer or by a financial gift. May God Bless you and keep you in the days and years to come. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much again for helping those in need.

Password Issues?

I've noticed an increase of Password issues that people are having when trying to log on to RelayForLife.org or their local event fundraising websites.  If your login attempt doesn't work or if your username or password is not accepted, check out this page first.  If you continue to have problems, let us know about it.

New Survivor Chair

Hi I am new to being a chair I have only been involved for a couple of years.  I don't know where to start other than knowing I will have to get food for the meal. I know in  the past the survivors were given their shirts and sash also I think they were given little gifts.  I would appreciate any ideas also what kind of food have you had for the reception? Also if you have given gifts?

Searching for a particular fundraising letter.

I believe it is in the form of a poem in relation to a no-host tea party.  The premise is you send out this letter with a tea bag stapled to it, inviting the person to brew a cup of tea, then sit back and reflect on those they know who fought cancer and lost as well as those who continue the fight.  At the end, you ask for a donation to the Relay to honor those people.

I have also seen it with a golf tee in the form of a round of golf for rememberence.

 Thanks in advance.

hope and prayer

I am sorry that it has taken me awhile to get things up and running this time.  As many of you know Steve's cancer came back.  It has now moved from his lung to his brain.  We will be going under surgery next week.  So, we need alot of hope and prayer.

Last year, was my first year with relay, and I had a blast.  You will find it uplifting, and an enjoyable experience.  You actually get to meet those people around you that are fighting this terrible disease.  Even though they are sick; they always have a smile and are willing to give you help and advice.  So, take the time to get to know some of them while walking around the track.

If any of you have any fundraising ideas; do not hesitate to let me know.  So, I can assit in getting it of the ground.  I expect alot of team effort this year.  So, role up your sleeves and prepare yourself to be creative, and a fundraiser funatic!

Come walk with me, I Dare ya!!!

Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or the neighbor down the street, we all know someone who has been touched by cancer. Many of us are concerned about this disease and want to do something to make a difference. That’s why I’ve decided to take part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® . It’s an event that brings together the whole community and helps raise funds for the fight against this disease. I know you care about cancer, too, and I’d love for you to join me as part of my Relay team.

At the event, we’ll camp out overnight, walk around the track, and meet lots of new people. There is an incredible tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers that starts off the night and a moving ceremony honoring those who have fought the disease. I can truly say Relay is unlike anything else you’ll ever do. It’s a night full of fun, hope, and remembrance.

How do I start or join a team?

Online: Your first step is to find your local Relay For Life event's website.  You cannot register for your event on RelayForLife.org...but you can use RelayForLife.org to find your local event.  Begin by searching for your event.  Once you get to your event's website, there should be a button at the top of the page that says, "Sign Up" or "Start a Team" or "Join a Team."  Click the button and follow the steps on the pages that follow. *note: your RelayForLife.org login information and your local event website login information are for 2 different websites.

Removing A Team Member

Some confusion when registering a new team....I registered individually and was assigned to an existing team.  I wanted to register as a captain and then register my team members.  Now I cannot change anything, nor creat a team. Is there a way to "unregister" and start over?  I am very new to relay.  Thanks

Registration fees?

Hello my Fellow Relayers!

I am the finance chair and our Relay is trying to decide whether or not to charge registration fees.  We had stopped years ago because some had complained about using a credit card online.

What is the main purpose of the fee?  I imagine one reason is to at least make sure the shirt is paid for.

How do you sell the idea?  I know that most Relays call them commitment fees.

Do you have a Team commitment fee as well as a Participant fee?  And how much?

Thank you so much for the help! Laughing

My Relay theme is the Amazing Race. I want to include activities to center around the theme, one of which I would like to be a mini Amazing Race. Does anyone have any ideas about how to do this? Anyone ever done anything like it before? Any ideas and help will be greatly appreciated!
