some campsite help plz

The theme of our Relay is "Set the stage for a cure"; My wife(my co-captain) and I have decided to go off the beaten path. Instead of doing the normal "Guys and Dolls", "Grease", "Hello Dolly", "South Pacific" etc. etc. etc. We have decided to showcase "Snoopy: The musical". However we need a team name. We were thinking "The Fying Aces", or maybe "The blockheads". For our campsite so far we have thought of Snoopy as the flying Ace(his dog house would be purple tho),we can also then use it in the road to recovery race. We also have come up with Lucy's booth. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

                                                                                          Thank you in advance,

                                                                                            David A Roessler II

Site Feedback vs. Contact Us

I'm aware that navigating RelayForLife.org can be a bit intimidating because of how much content is on the site. Rest assured that I am constantly looking for ways to improve the navigation (some big changes are coming very soon). In the meantime, you can offer your input by submitting Site Feedback.

It can be difficult trying to decide whether your situation is a "Site Feedback" one or a "Contact Us" situation. Therefore, I've prepared this easy rule of thumb that everyone can follow:

  • If you have an opinion about the site, where things are, or how easy/hard it was to find what you were looking for. If you'd like to make a suggestion, you should click on Site Feedback.
  • If you have a question about a specific issue like your local Relay For Life, your event website, where to find something on RelayForLife.org, your password, etc, you should click on Contact Us.

Both links are located in the "Help" section of the top-navigation bar. Just hover over help and choose wisely!

Background Info

A little background info on me.

This will be my first year participating in Relay for life. I recently lost my mother to cervical cancer in May of 2007. Prior to my mother's diagnosis she was perfectly happy and seemed to be a very healthy person. No one in our family had a clue she was ill.

In late Feburary of 2007 My mother stated she felt week and told my sisters and I she had post-menopause bleeding for about a year, and her reasons for not telling us was she didn't want us to worry. My mother was admitted to the hospital and on March 15th she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My mother received a few weeks of radiation in the hope that they could get the lesions to shrink but unfortunately 6 very short weeks later on May 2, 2007 my mother lost her fight.

My whole family and I will be participating this year in relay for life and I am currently working to set up a cervical cancer foundation in my mother's name.

Tastefully Simple

My name is Michele, and I have been involved with RFL on the Random Lengths Team(GR Mitchell,Inc.)for the past 4 yrs. I have my own business through Tastefully Simple and have had many successful fund raisers specifically for RFL!

This fund raiser is easy and fun, with a well-known company to stand behind its products, and produces VERY good results.

If you are interested, here's what you need to do...

Email me and let me know that you are interested , and I will get together with you and supply you with the information and materials you will need to get your fund raiser going. If you are out of town, I will simply mail you what you need!

This fund raiser can be done individually, or as a team. You can have a book party, go with the actual fund raiser form, or have a taste-testing party. I am very flexible and have enjoyed watching my customers have fun with Tastefully Simple and earn money for their team(s) at the same time. I offer 20% to your team from your retail sales, and typically pop a check in the mail 2wks after the event is closed, money turned in, and the order is actually received by the team.

christians fight

christian is my 11 yr old son. he was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia when he was 9 yrs. old. july 5 2006. the dr's thought it was leukemia at first but after a bone marrow biopsy and several blood test they made a final diagnosis. the symptoms are all the same as leukemia but there is technically no cancer. they dont treat with chemotherapy. the treatment is called atg they get the serum from animals and it is given over several hours a day for 5 days. christian had to have treatment twice, the first time he relapsed after 3 months. the first atg came from a rabbit and the second from a horse. the second time it seems to be working we are now trying to wean him off the cyclosporine. it has almost been a year since the last treatment and he goes to gainesville on the 12th and will have a biopsy on the 13th. were hoping to have his port taken out this summer he wants to play soccer. my grandfather died of lung cancer and i have an aunt who had several diffrent cancers but no known history of aplastic anemia or leukemia.

New To Relay

Well, I am new to all of this and am so excited to be participating in this event.  I have an uncle who died from mesothelioma two years ago and another uncle currently battling cancer... not to mention stories from nearly anyone I know of loved ones being lost to cancer.  A just and derservable cause I am fund raising for and will walk for.  I have challenged myself to make this a growing experience along the way and look forward to all the amazing people and stories that I will encounter through it.  I hope to make this a new tradition for myself and to teach my children of the goodness that can come from it all.  Any suggestions for a newbie to the relay are welcome.

10 Years of Relaying and counting

Hi

My name is KAren

This is my first blog entry.

I have been relaying since 1999.

I live in Santa Clarita Ca and this is our 10th Relay

I think it is the best event in the world There is so much love and celabration and giving and being with family and friends Of course there are sad parts when we remember those we have lost during our luminary ceremony

I relay for my mom Goldie who I lost to metastatic breast cancer in 1986. But I also relay for all my friends and relatives who have been touched by cancer as well. Some  are survivors and some I have lost. But I Relay most for my daughter and my family and all my friends so we can fight this disease and put it in its grave where it belongs so no one will ever have to suffer again.

Relay has changed so much over the years al the new technology and great new ideas

Our site will be doing the CPR-3 study and we ae so proud.

I am so proud to be part of the American Cancer Society

Please write I  would love to hear from you
