Great New Day!

Everyday that I wake up is a great new day!  I am a survivor of inflammatory breast cancer, a cancer that is rare and aggressive.  I am blessed in many ways.

First because I have a friend who cared enough about me to get me to a breast specialist and an oncologist immediately. I don't know if she fully understands that she saved my life but I know it and will love her forever!

Second because I benefited from all the research done by the American Cancer Assoc. and the donations and support of all of you.  Without the proper protocol, including the drugs and agents I and many others would not be here.  The old saying is, the longer you live the greater the chance that a new drug will be developed- this wouldn't happen without YOU!

Third, I have so many people, family, friends and acquaintances, who prayed for me, and literally took care of my families every need while I was going through treatment.

By walking and supporting Relay For Life I feel in some small way that I am giving hope and life to others who are/will be in my shoes!  Thanks for your support!

New to RFL

I have just recently signed up to start a team for our even being held in July2008.  Can anyone give me some great advice to a beginer?  I am not sure what to expect between now and July.  I currently have recruited (verbally) about 10 people to join me in my new adventure and I am very excited.

One of the main reasons I have decided to head down this path, is that I have lost 3 grandparents to cancer and a close co-worker.  I was recently involved with both my kids sporting activities and now that they are in high school and seemingly getting more independant, I felt that I needed to get involved with something that will change my life in a positive way.  I really feel that RFL will do just that.

I am looking forwared to this event, but I am not sure what my next step is.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

2008 National Corporate Team Program

What is the Relay For Life National Corporate Team Program (RFL NCTP)?

The National Corporate Team Program builds relationships with national and regional companies to help promote the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. It is an excellent way for businesses to participate in the world’s largest nonprofit fundraising event while boosting employee morale and team-building skills. Companies establish corporate liaisons who work with Society relationship managers to build teams within the company’s network.

What it takes to make the National Corporate Team

► 50 or more teams nationwide ► Executive leadership support► Corporate volunteer leader dedicated to motivate, recruit & track teams► Communication of Relay For Life participation through internal channels

The Relay Value for NCTP Companies

► Community presence of each corporate brand and recognition in the fight against cancer► Volunteer leadership building opportunities nationwide► Team development for all employees participating► Executive leadership validation of nationwide philanthropic and volunteer efforts of employees ► Outreach of health & wellness programs, survivor and caregiver support in all local communities

Community Outreach Information

Fact Sheets & promo flyers, available on relayforlife.org in the Relay Library are provided to support volunteer team recruiter efforts. What is listed on Fact Sheets Who to call▪ When to call – any restrictions?

About me

Hey Relayers....

Took the advice of my staff partner and came to this site for some good info..registered as a user and here I am.

I am entering into year 5 of Relay for Life. I am as passionate about this event as I have ever been about anything in my life. I lost my Mom to gallbladder cancer in Nov '03. I was numb for several months, and then my employer started it's first RFL team in May of '04, and the rest is history. I will Chair my event in 2009 and 2010.

I look forward to coming back often to check in and contribute as much as I can.

Peace to all....
