Relay For Life is a large community event that involves many people working together to pull it off. No matter how you decide to volunteer, you’ll first need to find your local event.
So, you’re a Team Captain. You will organize and recruit your team of friends, family members or co-workers, and lead your team’s fundraising efforts and participation in the Relay event. Planning a Relay takes many people with many talents. The Committee is the group of members in your community who make sure that everything is organized and executed. From recruiting and motivating teams and sponsors, to planning ceremonies, to setting up the event day track: there’s always a role for you on the committee.
If you don’t have the kind of time it takes to be a full-time committee members, there are opportunities to help out in smaller chunks of time. You can help stuff envelopes, help set up the day of the event, or help find companies to donate things that are needed for the event.
